Born and raised in a small working class mining village in South Wales, Tara grew up singing and writing songs on the piano about love and heartache before ever experiencing it. At just the age of 2, Tara had shown an interest in singing. “She could sing before she could talk” is what her mother would tell people. Tara went on to study Musical Theatre at college and university. It was during this time she found out how versatile her vocals are and how adaptable she is as a performer. Her singing range extends from classical songs, musical theatre, popular music, Jazz/Soul and RnB. Tara is always looking for new and exciting music ventures and is eager to learn from industry professionals.
After graduating, Tara learned to play the guitar and wrote hundreds of songs. Tara loves all genres of music but is especially keen on Soul, funk, RnB and EDM. Her biggest idols are Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Eva Cassidy, Aretha Franklin, Jojo, Tori Kelly and Ariana Grande. These soulful female singers wear their hearts on their sleeve and inspire Tara to share her experiences of self love and heartache. Since releasing her own music in 2021 Tara has built a committed fan base in the South and West Wales Area.
She has collaborated with a number of producers. Most recently with Well re known Trance producer, Paul Skelton and Andy Newton on their rendition of the Sarah McLaughlin track, Angel. This received brilliant feedback and came to #2 on the hype chart and #10 on the main BeatPort chart. Tara has collaborated with a number of Trance producers since her first big release with Will Rees, co-writing and providing vocals on their track ‘Spiralling’ released on John O’Callaghan’s label Subculture. The track gained major airplay and hit #13 on BeatPort Top 100. Since releasing her own music as a solo, independent artist, Tara has collaborated with gold and platinum selling songwriter and producer Jack Gourlay (Jess Glynne, James Arthur & Tom Odell.) From his studio on the Kent Coast they have cut ‘Hold On’, ‘Deleted’, ‘You Ain’t Invited’, and two further singles showcasing Tara’s RnB sound.
